Milano Global is the platform for national and international events, congresses and summit meetings that carries forward the EXPO Milano 2015 legacy and aims making Milan a worldwide political, cultural and scientific centre.
The programme includes numerous events and supports Milan as “City of Sustainable Development”, discussing sustainability in all its economic and social ramifications: food security, environmental sustainability, science for life, protection of natural resources, education and human capital, gender equality, right to health, human rights.
Milano Global contributes to the advancement of the “Agenda Italia” for growth and innovation and aims being a driver for diplomacy and cooperation in support of the UN Agenda 2030 objectives, which assigns a global role and central responsibilities to cities as “inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” communities.
Founded in 2014 by initiative of Expo Milano 2015, the City of Milan, Region of Lombardy and the Milan Chamber of Commerce, the Milan Center for Food Law and Policy is a documentation centre focusing on rights to food and the theme of sustainability as envisioned in the UN Agenda 2030.
In January 2017 also Città metropolitana di Milano, which hosts the Center at Palazzo Isimbardi, became a founding partner.
In addition to gathering and cataloguing legal documents and best practices relating to food, the MCFLP constantly monitors the dynamics making up the world’s “food rights” geography in all its forms and variations.
The MCFLP embraces Italian and international universities, research centres and other institutions working together to achieve an ambitious, long-term goal: affirming the legacy of Expo Milano 2015.
